Well payday is herefinally and I have a found what I think is a great Deal on a Garmin echo 300C DualBeam Sonar Fishfinder ($150) Brand new in box and I was wondering if anyone else is using this FF ? and how do you like it ?

This FF is one of the few I was looking at buying between the Elite-4x and the Garmin 300c.

thanks for any insight ,
WES

i got the 150 and love it! it shows brush, rocks, etc. and fish well enough to where I have seen them on the finder, dropped straight down and caught fish.

I just miss seeing structure Smile , Now to mount it nicely . I am still unsure of the FloatTubeFanatics mount . It looks easy and I have seen Jeffs video with his ODC 420

Still hunting on designs and making this as clean and light weight as possible , a lot of great info on the site .

i use the echo 150 and really like it i run it mounted on a float tube fanatics up 1 mount on my creek company uboat 2000

its a great mount and simple to set up i run my ff on 8 aa batteries inside of a sealed plastic container
stored in my left cargo pocket and have had zero issues with this setup have fished 4-5 hrs on this setup

and still have plenty of battery left i have had great luck with the echo 150 and fff mount

tjflyfisher ,  Glad to hear you are enjoying the float tube fanatics Mount , I have been very interested in this  up 1  mount ..

I keep seeing people say they are using AA batteries and I have been searching around and I am having no luck finding any info on how to make this battery holder .  I see the RadioShack 8 “AA” Battery Holder , but not sure on the splicing of this unit into my FF power .

How is the Structure Scan on the Echo 150 ? pretty much what I am looking for is something that's going to be reliable and be very clear that if its a sunken tree that is what i am seeing

misfit

the 8 aa battery holder from radio shack is what i use to power my echo 150 its super cheap and works great i went to the local dollar tree or some dollar store cant remember which one and got a small plastic sandwich container with a lid to put my battery pack in then drilled a small hole to run the power wires thru and sealed it with silicone a couple rubber bands around the container to hold the lid on just in case and your all set

the 8 aa battery holder uses a 9 v connector lead also sold at radio shack or if you want just pm me and ill send you a couple for free as i have some spares then its just wiring in an inline fuse holder and connecting the positive and negative wires from the 9 v connector lead to your ff power leads and thats it

if you want to see my setup e mail me at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and ill send you some pics so you have an idea of the setup

the echo 150 comes with a fuse already installed in the power cable but i don t know about the 300
