Fish'sBane Instructor topic brings something up

Fish'sBane was talking about a derby with a lack of instruction which is very sad to say the least. I had a converstion with of all people the Chief of Police in La Habra last week and he asked if we would be willing to be part of there summer camp program. He would like to see if maybe a week of the camp could be dedicated to teaching there youth how to fish.

He said there is a slim possiblity that we could do it this summer as they are rady have made a calander of events. But I will be talking to the people in charge real soon to see if this is something we could do. The Chief said he could see us all meeting at Santa Ana River Lakes or Irvine lake and we would just be there to do what the other instructor was not doing.

What do you guys think, there are a lot of ideas coming up right now, so I am going to start moving on some of them and am always looking for input from everyone.

Might even my 8 and ten yr olds to help out.

I like it. I would love to teach the youth how to fish. I'm by all means no professional my self, but I think it would be a blast and amazing to see a little one real in there first fish. I don't have any kids yet and this would be awesome. I look forward to the day I actually have a child of my own and to teach him/her how to fish and bond with them. Count me in!

I am all about getting kids outdoors and being active ! Video games are now I understand , but being able to show our youth some of the passion that comes with catching a fish would be amazing and I would love to help .

Misfitdog yes video games are the popular choice right now. But as a parent I believe that it is up to us to balance between the two video games and outdoor activities.

ive helped out before charity work like this... FISH FOR LIFE..its a non-profit organization that takes disabled kids fishing out of Dana Wharf in Dana Point....awesome stuff! my next trip with Fish for LIfe will be May 10th but this time heading out of San Diego, Fishermans Landing i beleive...the kids that are coming this time are disabled kids from Tijuana Mexico....i cant wait...its gonna b a great time and another great experience...just thought i would share...
