So now that the water at LP has warmed up to about 67-68 degrees by noon, has anyone gone in without wearing waders? With the really bright green algae bloom going on right now, I'm not sure I want to go into that water. Probably won't harm you other than really stain up your t-shirt and float tube. Sure messes up your line. No more clear lines! You really need to wipe off your line the last few feet next to your lure, for some of you guys that think the fish are line shy.

I fished the afternoon last week in my trunks, and one afternoon two or three weeks ago. I was thinking I could have this morning as well, but I had already put my johns on. I have never seen the lake this green tho!

What green water?  Ha ha!  Looks like someone threw in some of that St. Patrick's Day day-glow green dye into the lake!  Has not hurt the fishing one bit.  Just hope that when this algae dies off, it does not deplete the lake of it's oxygen like it has done at Elsinore, resulting in a huge fish die-off…  That would be terrible.

Nice catch man. Isn't Perris a hell of a lot deeper than Elsinore?

@Jeff
Providing other conditions are stable, Jeff, Id think the stained water might IMPROVE fishing. Fish gotta eat, and they gotta do it when visibility is reduced, regardless.
Feeding Fish + Low Viz conditions = Aggressive strikes

Thats my theory, at least

Has anyone seen Lake Perris this green before?? Lots of times I have seen the shallows on the east end carry a green tint throughout the summer months, but I have never seen it green all the way around the island.
