The FTFF Dictionary

Some one mentioned that if you are new to the board you might not know what all our abbreviation or terms truly mean. So here is the FTFF Dictionary (disclaimer: this is not exclusive to just our board).

If you have so terms or abbreviations to add please do so just make sure you watch what you post up. Please lets keep it clean as we can. I will start it out.

LMB = Large Mouth Bass
FTFF Crew = Float Tube Fishing Forum Group
Butt = Halibut or Flounder
Skunked = Went fishing and only caught a sunburn (no fish)

So, you'll be editing it?

SMB = small mouth bass
Stiper (not to be confused with stripper) = freshwater white striped bass
Wiper (not for cars..or wet t-shirt contest) = hybrid freshwater white striped bass
FNN = FishingNetwork.Net (reports for local California waters)
BBG = BigBluegill.com (those who tube/yak/toon for panfishes in local freshwaters)
Toon = pontoon
Tube = Float tube
Yak = Kayak

There are a few, but the day is ending without enough caffeine.

Keep them coming I will clean this up and compile a list when we have more.

Slab = crappie (panfish)
Spineless brown trout = human waste product in form of a trout shape. I dare say I have seen up to 14" long, and 1.5" thick. Could not wipe that from memory.

You got me on that one I don't know who posted that one we will need some clarification on that.

Yeah, you should have a stern talk with that guy. lol
To me it's more like a decoder ring type thing.

Add the various location acronyms.
For example, CIH = Channel Islands Harbor

I never know where anyone is fishing.

rubber mouth/bugle mouth trout = carp
prairie trout = catfish
green trout = LMB (points for double entendre?)

W.F.O. = WIDE F***ING OPEN as in fish are biting everything
bongos = bonitos
dine = sardine
chovie = anchovie
bugs = lobsters
lead = Fishing Weights

Bucket Mouth = Large Mouth Bass
Birds nest = A pile of knot's in your Bait Casting Reel
DS = Drop Shot
T-Rig = Texas Rig

Spottie=Spotted Sand Bass
Sandy=Barred Sand Bass
DPH=Dana Point Harbor
DFG=Department of Fish and Game

Eye: Walleye
Fertilizer: Carp
Laker: Lake Trout
Hot Spotter: Either somebody that blows up peoples' honey holes, or somebody always seeking other peoples' honey holes.

Yo Kid: People that fall into fishing "styles" (ie:flat brim hats, white frame glasses).
Billboarder: Pro-staffers that hawk their products non-stop on Facebook using an endless stream of hashtags (ie: #winning, #thewaterismystadium, #likeaboss)
Leech: Somebody constantly asking where the "best spot" is on fishing forums.

Met one of these guys today. He wasn't happy with just any spot, he only wanted to know where to catch "big ones."

I suggested the pond in the city's garden park.
I failed to mention the cops that would appear as soon as he wet his line.
