Hey Folks,

I was hoping I could get some insight into the above tubes.

My current tube, the ODC 420, has a 2-3" tear on the nylon part where the seam from the bladder rubs against the shell.  I called Creek Co. and the best they offered was to sell me another shell for $60.  I am not sure I want to do that, especially since it is clear that the problem was caused by the bladder seam rubbing against the shell.

QUESTIONS:

Can somebody tell me if the Cumberland has a PVC bottom?  The Fat Cat cetainly does.

Can somebody compare the thickness of the nylon between the ODC420 and the Cumberland?

How about nylon thickness of ODC420 and Fat Cat?

Thanks,
Manuel

I have a super fat cat and I tell you, I have been in many battles and it hold up very good Very Happy I have friends that own the ODC420 and they are happy with what they have but once they tried my float tube, 2 of them turned around and bought super fat cat. Yes the ODC420 is lighter and that is a plus if you are hiking up and down hitting some off the map missions. As long as you are safe in it and what ever your pocket can afford or you buy the shell and apply duct tape over the bladder where it rubs against the shell to keep it from rubbing into it. Here are the links so that you can compare them. Good Luck

Thanks Guys,

That Fat Cat is for sure the top of the heap. I would love one. Just twice the price of the others. May be time to sell off some reels to justify the purchase.

Thanks Jerdon, I had read the reference to PVC on the post you linked but, it wasn't clear if the entire bottom is covered. Pics of the tube make it hard to discern.

You sick bastards!!

I was talking about the bottom of his tube.

Besides, paragraph 4, line three of this site's terms and.conditions states this is a don't ask don't tell site. So, don't ask.
