Chatterbaits anyone

Who here is using are has used Chatterbaits with any success.  I just purchased a few and plan to use then this weekend.  I really feel they could be deadly if used the right way.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to use them right.

Ive used the one I have without sucess lol then it got hung up and lost it...have yet to buy another one...lost it at cachuma lake last summer....always used to throw it cuz I had heard good stuff about them....

I would think a slow wind on the bottom is the best way to whack them spotties. You could also try a jerk and flutter or lift it and let it fall to the bottom.

Work it the same way you would a spinnerbait. They work great around grass

IF2L I will give all those techniques a shot, and ya kin along the weed lines should be the best spot to try this. I will give it the old College try boys.

Actually all of the retrieves mentioned above will work. I have caught many, many spotties as well as LMBs with the chatterbait. Fish it the same way you would fish spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and plastics. Let the fish tell you how they want it. There really is no wrong way to fish it.

Cool I just want to have more option to choose from when I am on the water. I hope I can report success with my chatterbaits tomorrow but either way it will be a learning experience for me.

That thing looks wicked , I would work it like a swim jig through the Grass . should be killer

Ya Wes that is what I thought I am looking forward to seeing how they work. I have some confidence in them just need to give it a chuck and reel and chuck and reel and see what happens.

Only Way to do it .. Its like a CrankBait you have to have confidence and know your going to hook up and I have it down . Love Fishing Cranks

The small size (1/8 oz) brown with gold blade and orange plastic worm trailer has worked pretty good for me at Riverside's Lake Evans in Fairmount Park. Using 6 lb test mono and a spinning reel I have caught several decent-sized bass casting ahead of me parallel to the shoreline and using a steady slow retrieve with a pause now and then. The bass really slam it!

Ya I had a grump on the white chatterbait, at the Newport Gathering last week. He inhaled it I think the vibration pissed him off. I will be throwing this more often for sure.
