Hey Gents, anyone have a recommendation on a reel under $100 bucks ? I know the sky is the limit but I'm trying to stay around $100 for my next reel. Appreciate the feed back.

The shimano symetre line is pretty nice and it's under $100. I have one and it's pretty smooth.

I need a cane to be mobile but i can ride a bike pretty well.
Needing a Good spinning reel to take with me when i ride my Bike into lake Perris or Silverwood. Knowing if i drop one of my CI4s while riding would not be a good thing. I purchased a Californian from Turners. I think it was like 50 bucks. Built for turners by Okuma.
Good little reel pretty smooth and reliable ... Also light weight.
It is a TCP 10B

I also use Californian reels by Okuma for Turners for some of my trouting and love them, never had an issue yet after 3 years of use. Honestly I can't even imagine spending $100 on a reel for trout fishing in CA, seems like anything $60 and below should handle any trout we have here unless your talking fly reels.

Yup the Californian is a good little reel...BUT my Shimano CI4 are much better even smoother and cast farther ...retrieve more line and have even better drags as well as being lighter..down side ?? COST.
for fishing from shore and if your only throwing bait or spinners where really long cast are required the Californian is a great reel
and if i get dirt in it i don't feel so bad
for the money the Okuma Californian is tough to beat
