Had not been fishing in a few weeks and I was going through withdrawals.  I hit up my hometown lake for some early morning topwater fishing.  First fish came at about 5:20 at dawns early light.  Still pretty dark as I cast toward a large boulder.  I hear crack-splash as my lure bounces off the rock.  I cringe, hoping i did not destroy my $17 bait.  Started reeling and SPLASH, I felt weight and set the hook!  Fish on!  Felt like a better fish than it turned out to  be, but not bad.

Got 7 more, all but one on the Gunfish.  Gotta love a Topwater bite!  Off the water by 10:30.
