QUAGGA AND ZEBRA MUSSEL INSPECTION:

I just spotted this on FaceBook
I have not been stopped at all this year with my tube, but many others have. I  suspect the coming 3 day weekend will result in high alert at the gate.

Hello Boaters and Vessel Operators,
A friendly reminder of Lake Perris' statewide quagga inspection program. All vessels are required to be "clean, drained and dry" prior to arriving at the lake. The quagga inspection applies to all vessels; motorized vessels, personal watercraft, sailboats, float tubes, kayaks, canoes, sail boards, stand up paddle boards, etc. Please be sure to prepare your vessel ahead of time so your visit to the lake to recreate is an enjoyable one. Below are some links about the quagga program...

I've seen them check a tuber at entrance before, but he ASKED them about it. If your tube is wet they will likely turn you away from what I've been told. So just make sure your stuff is dry.

I have been checked the few times I have gone to Perris. They fill out a form, you pay and your on your way. Last month they asked me where I last fished, Irvine Lake I said. She said they have the Q mussel.

Tony just make sure you are dry and when they ask if your launching sale cove say yes . I always let them know I have my tube to avoid all issues .  Most of the time it goes like this

- I pull up . Hello I have my tube in back . Want to make sure I check in
- when and where was the last time you launched ?
- are you launching in sail cove ?  Yup ok go ahead  .. lol

If they fill out the sheet . It's fast and easy just let them see the tube . I open 1 door they just look to see if it's dry and color for there sheet .  You fill out name and number and your on your way . 3min process

Edit: the water rose again and will be up another foot shortly . The bite is A-Rigs and top water lately. Fish on the shad heavy

Still too cold to go in without waders.. Couple more weeks (I hope). It's great when you don't need waders. Plus I can wear my nice swim fins and get around better.
