Thanks Wes and FishinFattie for the heads up!

I was baby sitting my grandson this afternoon when his mom said I could drop him off rather than her pick him up. Wes had given me a heads up on the trout plant yesterday. My grandsons mom lives right PAST the lake from my house.

So we stopped off and fished the dock at the boat launch from 4:30 til dark.

Noah picked this rascal up on a 502 SuperDuper in gold

Sadly the youngster was conflicted about the kill so we let it go. He immediately changed his mind so we are going to make another trip.

Way to Gramps a day that your grandson will never forget. I am sure you will have many more to come.

Awesome Job  I love taking a little one with me during trout season . I will be up today  Smile

I will more then likely be throwing swimbaits and jigs  and maybe pick off a trout or 2 ..

Guys if you want to teach a youngster to fish this is the perfect time to do so with the trout plants and i know at perris you can pack light .  take a couple  502 or 503 super duper in Brass Red Head  and a few Thomas Buoyant Spoons in Nickel or Gold and the kids or yourself will have a blast  Smile

Warning : The huge bass that are lurking around the docks love the Thomas Buoyant Spoons in Nickel dont be surprised to see a huge follower or one take it Twisted Evil make sure you change out the hooks on the lures as they are Cheap . I learded the hard way last yr and lost a Giant Bass .. 12+ lbs .. funny thing was 2 days later a guy pulled out a 15lb bass in the same spot Thumbs Up

Good luck out there ,

Wes

Thanks for the kudos boys.

Jeff: Best trip of the year for me!
Wes: The look of joy, fear, and surprise are the best.
TonyG:  He was excited to "look like a real fisherman." But, Dam I thought that kid looked sharp. Smile

FYI:
Telling a 5 year old he is using a secret bait is much cooler than explaining Pedro0131 gave it to me last summer and I forgot the name.
