Returned to NPH and conducted my first solo session on the tube.

A few different conditions had occurred that were different than from the first time.
This time the sun came out early and I found myself searching for decent shaded areas where the fish might hold up.
Also, the wind was a bit stronger than the last time and I was learning to stay on position.
I've also been learning to "Shoot-the-dock" cast and was hit once on the entry! SWEET!!

It's sort of like shooting and aiming a bow and arrow. It's just going to take some practice and patience!
I'm aiming at hitting the Bulls Eye every time!
Wishful thinking ... eh!?!?

Heck ... I even switched up between my  white and chartreuse powder coated 1/4oz lead heads, in an attempt to future entice a strike.

Tackle:
a) 1/4oz lead-head w/ 3" Big Hammers w/ scent: Sexy smelt, Spotty Special and white.
b) D/S Gulp 3" & 4" Watermelon Minnows & Zoom fluke Ice.

Fish Count:
a) (2) Sand Bass
b) (2) Spotted Sand Bass (best 13") close ...
but no cigar!!!

This one measured 13" and coughed up the crab, but no legals today![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/UR

Thank you for checking out my session report.

Another great report SP Dan!
Is the thumb tape for the bass or braided line?
And what size Force Fins did you end up with?

Hey Jeff,

I do hope that the fish reports are a little bit interesting.

The thumb tape was originally for using with my Diawa Samurai 55 lb braided line but I thought it would shield my thumb from the teeth of the SSB too!!
Worked great!!
I have 10-rolls of the tape, so I'm always looking for an excuse to use it up.

I ended up with size XL.
I have a size 10 narrow foot and it fits perfectly with the thin walled pull over booty that LOLLY told me about.
I added fin leashes for the added assurance because the Force Fins were way too $ expensive to have fall off my feet in 30 foot of water).
If I had a wide or a wider foot .... then I would have gone with the size XXL.

Dan

Nice solo session my friend and congrats on the PB Spottie! Cool pic of the coughed up crab. Ive seen Spotties cough up all kinds of stuff; worms, baitfish, crabs, squid, gobies. That 13inch looks like he's been feeding well.

I hope to get you on your first legal bass soon. If you thought that fish had a lot of fight, wait til you hook a toad. Can't wait for our next session together Cool

Jeff,

It's possible that I might be able join you on Wednesday. Maybe.
I have a Banked Holiday that I have to use or loose by Thur 3-31-16.
I was going to take Thursday off, but I could take Wednesday off instead.

Let me know if you are serious about hooking up on Wednesday.
I don't know NPH at all. I just know the one area that Jason has taken me.

You will need to map-me-in if you decide to accept this mission Jeff!  What a Face

Dan

Pdawg,

That would be more than great!
I've been wanting to find launches for the inner LAH where there are no beaches to launch from.
Do people dock hop onto their floats? If so, how do they get back out (back on the dock) without standing up on their floats??   Hmmmmmm?!?!  Cool

Better yet .... come back to SP and we'll fish it together!

SP Dan

PM me.

Hey dudes. Been real busy. Fishing the skiff a little and loosing bluefin locally. I can get bit but landing is a different story. Still working on the Florida property thing. Getting good with the locals. They took me creek fishing for red fish. Crazy wide open. Fished Rodman Reservoir and lost so many fish. The bass actually throw your shad back in the boat and splash water in your face. Especially if your yankee. Fished some plastic worms the size of snakes too. Trippy place this Florida
