Ok, I see that there is no post here, does that mean that I am the only tuber in North Carolina? Well if not post up and let's see who's here.

I have posted on another fishing board here in NC and told them about this board, so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for spreadinh the word Deepblu lets get the North Carolina rolling.

I am not a float tuber, but I have been interested in it. I read DeepBlu's post on our NC site and came over for a visit. It ain't right to let a fellow ncangler venture into new waters alone so I joined up as well, I can tell I am going to enjoy the site.

Hello DeepBLu505 I have been great, catching a few fish here and there and having some good times on the water.

We are having a Meet and Greet at New River in August, lots of places for you to soak the float tube up there. Then Bay River end of Sept.

How strong of a current can you make progress against in a tube?

Our RedXAnglers group from here in NC floated a stretch of the New last weekend. We did OK, but the water is low. A float tube/wade trip from put ins and take outs along the river may have been a better option for getting some fish. I was thinking that it might be possible to go upstream some and float back down. Just curious, Thanks

My preference is fly-fishing for trout, but I also float a Togiak on Lake Chatuge fly-fishing for bass & bluegill; especially now that it's hot weather after the Delayed Harvest is done, or when my mate takes the car; I put the tube on the back of the golf cart and go float in the lake a while.
I just picked up an 11' switch rod from Cabela's 'Bargain Cave' dirt cheap; looking forward to lining it with a $20 short Skagit head & bass polyleader I found on EBay; hoping it'll be a good bass setup for the lake.
