Canyon lake 7/9

So it seems the bite slowed down last week CL. Water temp was 73 and the water clarity was really bad around the shoreline due to heavy boat traffic. Beautiful conditions though with sunny skies and very little wind out of the south.

Got to CL at about 1am on Saturday and threw big baits from the bank until about 3:45am. We normally see lots of followers and big girls swimming around stalking our baits. This wasn't happening. I had an idea at this point that the day was gonna be kind of a grind. Hit the tubes at about 3:45-4:00 right before grey light. I immediately hooked up and landed a 3lbr flippin heavy cover. They next few hours were very slow with a few other fish caught by my friends in the 2-3lb range around docks. Seems to me the fish went a little deeper than they have been. I found another fish a little later also deep in the bushes (2lb 11oz). I also managed to find a 5-6lb catfish in a different bush so I guess that was kind of cool. We got out of the water at about 2pm because of the heat and how slow the bite was. Hopefully next week it will pick up again.

All in all great conditions for the tubing if anything a little to hot but not complaining the least bit. Got a few photos and got a video of the catfish that I gotta edit.

Place was going to cool off at some points still thanks very much for the report and the fish Porn. I like that shot near the trees looks like a Magazine cover shot.

Wow we tried multiple spots and couldn't really get anything to chew. Maybe in the east bay the bite was better. I love that shot in the trees too. Your one of the many that said that it should be in a magazine. I'll be back there next weekend for revenge!!

Right on man. It's a great shot that portrays the beauty and serene environment of fishing. That would be very cool.

That's actually an early one for us. We normally stay until about 8-9PM. Lol. We're very sick individuals.....
