Well I purchased a Astak Action Pro 3 1080P Full HD camera from Amazon. Price $43.39.

So I opened the box and found all kinds of goodies neatly wrapped.

MY question to u that own this camera, how do u remove the camera from the waterproof housing without damaging the camera? Sounds trite, but I don't want to force it out. Manual explains how to install, but not to remove. I've tapped it numerous times but no success.

Any help much appreciated............GT

I think you will like the camera GT.

It folds forward and it takes a good amount of pressure. I was surprised my self on how tight it shuts.
With the camera/ housing facing you. Slide your thumb under the black tab to pry it outward a "little bit" . Once the cover pops open you can see how the lever works. You just push the back cover that just popped loose forward a ways to unlatch.

I hope this helps.

text me if you need me to send a video

Thanks Jerdon, I opened the waterproof case, but the camera would not come out. I finally used a small screwdriver to pry the camera out of the case. Put a small scratch on it, but all is well, charging it................GT

Hope this helps.

Also, remember that the remote is water resistant, not water proof. If you choose to wear it own your wrist don't reach down in the water with it.

I hope you enjoy yours. I still use mine in my HD camera arsenal!

Did it not work out of the box? Or did the non-function status occur while in use?

First of all I would suggest changing the battery. Does the little red led (on remote) come on when you push a remote button? They are suppose to ship with a charged battery, but I would guess that every so often you'll get one that has a dead battery. I would definitely try that. I bought lots of extra batteries but haven't needed to change it since I bought mine over a year and a half ago.

Did you buy through Amazon? They will take care of you if it continues to be a problem.

Don't give up on getting a fix or replacement. I find the remote to be extremely useful while on a Float Tube. I have bought multiple cameras since my Astak, but a remote is a must have option for any consideration.

OK I charged the battery over night and the red light was still on this morning. So I will try and get the camera setup and see if the battery works. I did notice that the battery said 2013, so its already 3 years old. Will let u know how it works , going out tomorrow..............GT

Well it says full charge. And the remote works. So I'LL see how it performs. Jerry rigged a strap, wearing camera around my chest. It will rest on the life jacket zipper tab. I need some input on mounts to rod holder.....thanks ....GT

I don't use my remote anymore, it is more trouble for me than it is worth. I can't see the red light go on in the sun and sometimes I need to push the button a few times for it to work. It is easier for me to pick the camera up and snap a photo or visually see the camera start recording. However, I typically just take a screen shot from the recording.

I emailed Timetec today about my battery being 3 years old, so they r sending me a new one. Now that's what I call service......now if the camera is as good as the service, then it was a wise purchase, Thanks BigFish, Jerdon and Litefoot...........GT

I'm having an issue with the remote..........they say I have to download a file, then it should work........OK, so I found an old tri-pod that I bought when I was in Vietnam. I removed two legs and mounted it to the rod rack. I think I'm going to the Pud tomorrow and test it out..............GT
