Went to Huntington Harbor this morning an meet up with GT, and Branders, at 6 am. We launched at Sea Bridge Park a high tide. The water was in the 60's and clear to about 5 foot deep. The current was very slow to none at all and the low tide did not start till we were getting out.
I had a great time hanging and chatting with these guys, all morning, but the fish where bitting so the talk was short. Never really went far stayed very close to the original launch spot for the most part. I hooked up 2 early near the docks but lost them both. GT suggested the middle channel and after landing on on the docks we moved to the open channel. I myself caught 10 on the day dinks that thought they were big boys. Overall it was a blast getting out on a glass-like harbor and hooking into some fighting fish.
We got in about 6:30 and got out about 10 as the bite simply shut down. Here are a few of my catches on the day all on Hookup Baits, Green Chovy 1/4 oz. for me.
