So I have been told that if you are float Tubing in SARL you don’t need to spend the night in line. That you can just go in at 6am. Any truth to that? Anyone ever Float Tube SARL?

I float tube sarl quite a bit . I have never heard anything like that I wait in line like everyone else . But the lake does have certain people they know in early. Not cool but once your on the water it’s a different thing .

Thank you! Finally someone has answered this question. I have asked on many social media spots. With no answer. I stopped going to SARL a few years ago. I was First in line and then just before opening about 20 people were let in. I go to get a spot and no dice. They are all there covering the spot. Talked to Management and they could careless. So I stopped going. Now that I have a float tube I was told you can get in most spots no problem. And you don’t have to fight to get in. I guess it is still the same.

Any tips for those new to the lake?

I use to go to SARL........got too expensive, entry fee, float tube fee......But I never go early and wait in line. I show up around 0550 and usually go right in..........u got the tube u fish anywhere..........GT

Thanks, GT. I was just checking it out. Looks like $26 for senior admission and $5 for float tube fee. Not something I would do regularly, but might be fun to give it a go. The website says they close on Thursday for stocking, so looks like a Friday would be the day to go. I'll be out of commission for a couple of weeks, but after Christmas, I'll look for a Friday with a favorable wind forecast and post an invite.

I haven't been there in many years but now that I look at from the satellite, I can see that the circumference is only a mile, so exploring the whole lake in one session should fairly easy.

As I remember, the whole waiting in line all night is guys fighting over their favorite spots and trying to claim as much shoreline as they can. Not an issue from the tube.

I have not been a fan of SARL just me though, the cost is too high for me, but if you hit it right fishing can be great and the size of fish is amazing sometimes. Good luck.

Just a reminder, this time of the year the wind blows across the lake. If the forecast is for wind work your way to the other side and let mother nature give u a ride back. It can get really windy there.............GT
