I was wandering the Hall Show in LB, visiting some friends, catching up on things - and in a booth facing a corner walkway was a large-ish (probably a wee bit larger than my mega OutCast *Cat) Tube.

It was gray, and looked to be made out of the stuff some Navy Seal landing Craft / RIB would be made out of. Some super heavy duty rubberized Nylon stuff.... like a life raft.

Seriously - never seen anything like that. I picked it up, and while still light (comparatively) it was probably the heaviest tube, and surely the most rugged tube I've ever seen.

Of course, Phone was on about 8% so I didn't get a shot of it.

Anybody know who makes it? Did anybody else see it? Pretty sure it wasn't 7 Bass, as I'd have remembered that name.

Just curious.

Thanks

- Ken

Thing was insane. As a guy who has abrated a couple of tubes to their death on rocks, this thing impressed me for it ruggedness.

I expected it to cost about twice what it was listed for.

Tough tube for when you're fishing tight among rocks or launching over rocks (think inlet at lake Sabrina, etc...)

did you say it was heavy I know the 7 bass high-end boats are very light.

The Savage is coated PVC.... surely heavier than a Ballistic Nylon tube.

But to me, my SFC is heavy after my Wood River (RIP) tubes. Smile

Looks pretty bulletproof to me. Definitely the ticket for rock launches.
I think any tube would feel heavy after a wood river tube. They were feather light.

I am riding the 7 bass Flatform and it is heavy but there Explorer and Expedition are about 16 to 18 pounds. They are bladderless and made of high quality PVC. i wonder what the Savage gear boat acctually weights.

Their site says 31 pounds.

Float tube AND Navy Seal Landing craft, apparently.

I've been wondering if anyone had tried this one. I've been thinking about adding another tube to the fleet and I though having the oars may add range or travel speed.

Also, does anyone have any experience with the Sea Eagle Fish Pack 7? Its built like a float tube but is enclosed like a small raft. Here in WI, not having your legs in the water when the water is 32-45 degrees in April and October/November is a plus. But then its not hands free like a tube. Then its just an inflatable kayak. And I fish along side my nephew and other friends with Kayaks. They get blown around and struggle to stay in position.

Any opinions or experience with the Savage Gear High rider or Fish Pack 7 is appreciated.

Thank you FTFF team.

I am the proud owner of a Savage Gear High Rider 170. If you drag your recliner from your house and put a couple of pontoons on it you've got a Savage Gear 170 thing is built like a tank!!!! be careful it might just rock you to sleep!!. Just Saying.

special k thanks for the input I did see this boat and I must say it is quite impressive. I believe these new float tubes (the Bladderless boats) Savage Gear and Seven Bass are in themselves just amazing. Top quality and game changers for our sport.
