Ok for those that don't know Float Plus is a company from the Netherlands that has made a attachable wireless motor developed just for a float tube. We talked about these a while back on the forum and had some mixed reviews or discussion. I say discussion because we have not had a chance here in the U.S. to see this system.
Well that will change as they have told me they are coming to the U.S. and we will be helping them launch here in the U.S. as well. We will have a chance to test there system and will have be able to have a first hand experience. I wanted to all share some info that was posted on our facebook page as well from Float Plus which helps us to understand a little more about the Float Plus System and its benefits to us as tubers. - The Pros and Cons of the Float Plus System over a standard Minn Kota
------Some facts. The speed of the Float Plus is the same as a Minn kota 32 Lbs on the back. About 4 km/p only Float Plus is 30% more efficiënt because of the hydrodynamic design. Also the weight of a single Minn kota 32lbs without battery is almost 2x the weight of the total Float Plus pro system including our battery. If you use a 40lbs Minn Kota it will be faster with only 2km/p but the weight of the motor is 3x the weight of our system and the 40lbs will use more then double the amount of current. If you don' t mind the heavy weight and the simple controller the Minn Kota is a good solution. If you want a light advanced and efficiënt system you can choose the Float Plus.
