I have used this strap twice now on my Fish Cat 4 LCS and felt it wasn't really secure on the tube. I think the problem is that I have a PVC frame work of rod holders that will not allow me to attach the strap secure enough. The solution for me has been to remove my center 1 1/2" PVC piece and replace it with a 3" PVC piece. The holder slips right into the 3" piece. I will find out this Saturday if it is more secure.
Has anyone else used the BFT 1 on a Fish Cat?

i had the same problem. you have the right idea but what i would do is go with a 2" pvc instead. the fish finder will move around too much in the 3" pipe. at the top, just add a 2" - 3" slip slip adapter so the top of the unit can fit securely. also, i recommend you have as little in the water as possible. have the mount completely out of water and have it long enough that only the transducer is in the water. this reduces drag and makes launching a lot easier.

I saw that the FB would fit into 2" but I stuffed the holster part of the strap into the 3". Its a perfect fit and gives me a buffer from the FB 120 and the PVC. I will see how it sits in the water this Saturday at Lake Perris. I want it riding high, like you said, for launching and return. I don't like to bang the transducer on the shore. Since I already bought the holster I thought I would still use it somehow. I am in the landscape business so I have access to all sizes of PVC and can still install that 3"x 2" slip bushing.
Thanks for the input.

I will be fishing Lake Perris from the Bernasconi Beach side. New hunting grounds for me as I have fished the East end the past two months with success.
