You LA guys might want to come down spotty fishing on fire right now. look up Roman Castro 100 spotted bay bass on youtube. he caught a 100 in one day on the ned rig and documented it on youtube. his youtube channel is a must for bay bass fishing. 50 fish is reachable on neds rig in Spanish landing, pepper park or glorrieta bay right now, these are all tubeable waters where current is manageable not the main bay

Cap'n, did you say 5 weight? I gave my grand son everything except one 4 wt. Maybe it would not be overpowered, eh?
Watched a friend catch a 16-17" river small mouth on a 4 wt. He had a lot of fun; and the bow in his rod was a beautiful sight..

Yes a 5 wt also fish a 3wt and sometimes a 1wt but halibut are in the bay now spawning so I use my 5wt. only use 8wt when fishing 30ft deep or more to get down. also here the youtube linc for that roman castro video if you are not on SDfish

Thanx for the fish report with pic's! Thumbs Up

Do you prefer SD Bay over MB? ... and if so, would you please share; why by your experience, how they differ?
