Monday night me and a buddy hit up LAB for a little ninja session. We launched around 64th st and worked our way up naples island. We worked it the opposite way then we normally do. We laucned about 730-745 and got one bite right away on a hookup bait, smart bait drop shot combo (used the 1/4 ounce mint hookup bait as my drop shot weight). Then went a while with out a bite. Switched to a pb&j colored man micro jig with a pb&j colored TRD Hogz trailer. Caught my first sandbass with this bait. At this time we ran into Floatingbassturd and his buddy at the corner on naples.
Started working our way arouind the cove and I caught what i thought was a beer can, it ended up being a octopus that tried to hide in the beer can. Fished a couple more dock, where again I caught a second octopus. I know this is a little off topic but these octopus had one blue ring near the head. I don't think we have blue ringed octopus off our coast.
We made ouit way across the channel to the cornor off the rocks near the marina and we got a couple bites, usually this corner produces fish but this night it was slow. Finally found a spor along the docks and rocks there where i got a coupel fish. The Zman baits werent effective this night, had to use Gulp to get bit. We rode the outgoing tide back to the beach. Ended up with 1 sand bass, 4 spotties, 1 sculpin and 2 octopus. A little variety this night. It was slow but i did miss about 10 bites so i was farming more then catching this night. I have some picture but will have to post them from my phone. Usually we fish this spot counter clockiwise but since we were fishing the outgoing tide we fished this spot clockwise. It was nice to get out since it has been a while. Thanks for reading and tight lines.
