LAH, Sat 9-14-2019.

Location: Los Angeles Harbor (LAH)
Duration: 06:00 hrs until 12:00 hrs (6 hrs)
Sun Rise: 06:35 hrs

The skies started out clear at 0600 hrs
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
And within a 20 minute span of time, I was completely fogged in by 08:30 hrs.
I couldn't see the tugboats nor the cargo tankers moving about in the harbor .... but I could hear them passing me by in the dense fog.

This literally had me sitting on the edge of my float tube seat!! Shocked [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Gray Light: 05:55 hrs
Sun Set: 19:01 hrs, I'm enjoying the long days of light before they are gone again.
Moon Phase: Full Moon
Tidal Conditions: 06:00 hrs 1.2 ft,
07:00 hrs 2.4 ft, 08:00 hrs 3.6 ft, 09:00 hrs 4.5 ft, 10:23 hrs HT 5.1 ft, 11:00 hrs  4.9 ft, 12:00 hrs 4.4 ft  ... etc.
Air temperatures during session: temps ranging from 70 deg to 78

Wind: 06:00 hrs 1 mph SE, 12:00 hrs 4 mph SSW.
Water clarity: translucent green.
Water Visibility: 6-7 ft
Tidal Coefficient: (CE) 85 in the morning, this is a higher rate and considered a stable rate.
iSolunar Prediction: Minor Period: 06:10 hrs until 07:40 hrs.
(4 out of 4 possible) <"))>< <"))>< <"))>< <"))><
Sea Dogs: (6) six to report
Dolphin: (0) none to report
Pelagic Bird Activity: minimal diving birds to report
Bait Presence: very good signs of bait, schools of shiners surrounding me,  predator fish chasing them and making them jump out of the water during the chase!
Distance kicked: 1.70 miles
Calories Burnt: 790 calories, if walking.

SP Dan's Tackle Used: 1/4oz Sardine Green/Silver and a new 1/4ozHUB color not being sold to the public yet. 3/8oz Sardine Green/Silver, colored HUB's .... All REPLACEMENT SKINS.
SP Dan's fish count for this morning: 41-fish, 4-species, 1 legal.

For (3) three of the hours I only landed 1-fish per hour and the remaining 38-fish were all landed in a three hour period.
I had two unbutton themselves right at my knees during my attempts to lift them up onto my tray and then I had also lost a good dozen hard grabbed short bites as well, just to rub salt into my wounds! Well folk's ... That's fishing!

Way to go! That fog reminds me of our first outing around Grissom! It is a bit uncomfortable to say the least.

Hey Jerdon,
When I finally kicked to where the warm water became cooler in the harbor, I was able to also locate the fish there as well.
The fish seemed to want to bite in the cooler water which was very fortunate for me. Thumbs Up

Hey Jeff,

I stuck it close to the buoy line alignment to be safe.
It was creepy indeed!

Hey Enrique,

Dang, I forgot all about Isle Grissom being foggy on our first get together, you’re right it was and yes it was just about like that except for the mega tankers and tugboats jockeying around in the fog! I could hear them in the near distance but I could not see them! Shocked

Nice outing Dan and great report. That had to be a bit uncomfortable. It worked out and you had one hack of a day.

Thanx for chiming in Toby,
It was definitely eerie out there, alone in the fog at times.
It was sorta like having one of my senses removed and I was depending on my sense of hearing and not my sense of vision to protect me.
The fog definitely handicapped me a little bit but it didn’t completely knock me out of the race. lol
