Have you considered using ABS pipe over the PVC pipe, at 1/2 of the weight as PVC, or carbon-fiber pipe?
The way that I understand this is: that PVC will beak-down faster than ABS when both are directly exposed to the same amount of exposure to the sun's damaging UV rays.
Carbon-fiber is extremely strong and extremely light in weight in comparison.

I can truly appreciate all of the thought you put into the design and in all the fine details that you shared with us.
You have an amazing-motorized ride Sir!

I also look forward to reading Dave's opinion ( Cool if he has one, Ha ha ha!), he is also motorized.

I am a proponent for kicking with fins , so ... I don't ever plan to motorize .... it's just my float tube.

Thank you for sharing your "very cool" ride with all of us here,

SP Dan      <"))><

Hi All,

It has been a while but I've gone through a few more design iterations and it seems like it is converging  on something that works pretty well for me.  I'll post a few more pics as soon as I remember how to post them on this forum!  Thanks for all of the feedback and encouragement.

Looks awesome. Very encouraging...My wife has gotten me the Cumberland tube for Christmas this year. I know because Fed-ex delivered it already...lol. I am very interested in this as I suffer from some of the worst cramping in my legs and lower back, but love to fish, and am really tired of being stuck on the bank...Thank you for posting...
