I was curious on how to start a bass tournament for tubers. Ive seen tournaments on boats but none in a tube. Does any body have any information on how to start or help host in this kind of tournament. The only idea I have for a lake would be Lake Perris but open to all ideas. Any and all ideas will help thank you

Well if you look or type in the search bar on our site you will see how we do it but we call them gatherings we only called one a tournament but ask jeff about what you want to do and he can answer question abot tournaments
basickly if you want to get together with a group of guys just post up on when you would like to go and give everyone a few choice on date and see how many people show up and it doesnt have to be a tournment it can be a bar b q gathering we are all about fun and have a safe and good time in the tubes with freinds my buddy waxon got me into this tubing think and i meet some real cool people that i am glad to call friends i when from one buddy i fished with to almost 20 different guys from the forum to fish with and we doing it all if we can so maybe just post up and see what happens pretty sure some of your local guy will show up and i have fished from marina del ray to san diego so let hear what you got in mind

Ya I am with ed start posting your ideas and it will grow you just need patients. I was involved in a tournament on at perris a few years back and there were some problems. First it shoudl be called a gathering once perris found out that there was a tournament they stopped it because there were fee's and permits involved.
The size of the tournament was not worth the fee's, as it was rescheduled and not called a tournament. We had a meeting place outside of the park and fished were every we wanted inside till time was up and then meet for a BBQ in the park later.
Chances are it will be small the first few that you do, but make them fun and low key and I am sure over time they will grow. Sounds like a great idea PM me if you wants some more info or help.

well like i said give us some dates and times and let vote see whats best for everyone and the one who brought it to the table should be in charge so if you need help let all try to help by giving TFB a hand so start with dates and time when you think is best and pretty sure you will get some bites on this one and a lil hint give at least 2 week so everyone can move things around to make it to your gathering and if you feel your being thrown under the bus well you are so get it up and started and if you need any help give me or like i said jeff a PM and i will be glad to help cheers another gather in the mix

I agree it is easier and can be more fun if it is just a gathering no pressure for anyone just fish and have fun. Maybe some simple prizes if you want there can always be some side bets if desired.

Awesome Im so down to start this. Im ready when ever is best for u guys only 20 min from lake. I would say best time would b within the next 3 weeks at most, bite might slow do to climate change jus means deeper fishin an gettin closer to the booie line. Its a $10 fee to park, bernasconie side of lake is best to start from easy way into water. Im not sure bout prizes we jus say dollor first fish 5 buck biggest. Im down jus to get people out for a good time catchin fish. Only one thing I must warn there is some brain donor boaters an skiers out there with no respect for tubers an like to throw wakes our way. Besides that it should b an awesome time. Some time around OCT 15 or 16 or sooner.

When I was a kid we took our boat out there and some jet skiers were buzzing us and another dude in his boat. The other guy in the other boat got pissed off and started casting a huge plug at them as they came by.
If I remember correctly he did hit one of them and they stopped. so go with light bass tackle and one surf rod and casting plug for the A-holes on the water Twisted Evil

Hey guys. How has everyone been? I have not been around in a long time and thought I need to get back to tubin.

I saw this post about tubin tournaments and thought I would post some info about a tournament series for tubes that will be starting soon. The format is simple and the guys that run it are cool. It would be great to get some members here to join.

Here is all the info:

We are bringing back the tournaments guys. This time, it will be headed by Jared Mallot as the director. It is the same format as the previous AOD TOURNAMENTS but only this time it'll be float tubes and kayaks only with a live weight it.[The live weight in will be configured to a certain fashion so it's as easy as possible and equal for everyone] You can be solo or have a partner to BE a team. This series has expanded, we have 14 teams all ready with a steady positive grade of participants!

Fees:

1. Membership fee: $20.00 [Covers for a whole year]
2. Tournament fee: $20.00 per event [Solo or Team]
3. Big Fish Side pot: $10.00 per event

Here is the schedule:

And if you have any looming questions, send 'em to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

And if you are signing up add your:

Fishing the salt is just like fishing the fresh....but you have a bigger variety of fish you can catch. You use all the same gear and lures plus the eye candy is much much better! green happy
