Has anyone just worn neoprene wet suit pants, instead of waders in the cooler winter and early springtime water? Or even wear these under your waders for extra warmth? I don't like wearing waders.

I have purchased and worn Ron’s Wader Skins- “Leggings” that are made from neoprene.
They come-up-to your mid-thigh and they are custom sewn to custom fit each of your legs, from the ankle to the thigh.
I believe that they are 3 mil thick.

Myself, I’ve been “only” wearing board shorts for the last couple of years.

Dan, I just wondered if I could wear some wet suit pants that covered my entire lower body, from waist to feet that normally gets wet while in a 'FishCat' type of wader where you sit somewhat higher and out of the water. I'm sure it would help keep me warmer than wearing just my shorts. I'm not concerned about getting wet, wearing wet suits, you do get wet under the suit. I even thought about getting wet suit 'booties' for my feet. I wear slip on diving fins, so they would just go over the booties. There are no regulations where I fish saying that you must wear waders while float tubing like so many SoCal lakes require.

Well Komori, I figure that if you need to warm up, you’ll figure out how to. LOL
Good luck in finding the correct gear combination that will suite you. Thumbs Up

I went to Amazon and I saw that they had many nice choices for wetsuit (neoprene) pants, 1.5 mm to 3 mm thick.

In my short bit of experience Float tubing. I have tried waders. I sweat so bad I thought they were leaking. Waders were bulky and hard to have free movement in them.

I settled on 3mm neoprene pants and 7 mm neoprene dive boots. The boots fit the fins I have perfectly. I have went in 38 degree water and I was completely warm. My feet being the warmest with the 7mm neoprene. I have also went in 68 degree water and was not too hot as it was with the waders.

I also got a 2mm wetsuit long sleeve top but most of the time I do not need it as I do not get wet up top. and a regular jacket works just fine for keeping me warm.

Right now Oregon lakes the water is much too cold as the water temps are near freezing.
