Hey guys!
To lght: No tubing at Casitas. Boy if there was I would be there everyday! Lake Casitas is in my opinion, one of the premiere fisheries in the State! A world famous Large Mouth Bass fishery, a secret year round trout fishery that rivals DVL, THE best panfish population I have ever seen, and apparently full of trophy carp!
To dano67: I am still studying the carp fly thing. There seems to be two trains of thought when it comes to carp fly patterns. Either you are imitating large larval insects, and or crustaceans, or some weird plant life that randomly presents itself. EG: popcorn flys, (very popular on the Colorado River) cottenwood seed flys, (the Delta) or crawfish flys, and dragonfly nymphs. Still studying.
To Tubinferbass: I have caught carp on the fly by accident and let me tell you I understand Why these guys get so excited about hooking one. I hooked one at Irvine, that took me into my backing so fast I had to turn around and back pedal, full tilt boogie, or lose a brand new $95. fly line! ( fish was over twenty, I guarantee, but busted me at color).
Anyway,...
Tomorrow is recon, I go to, watch, listen and learn.
