'Flip fins' and other fins suited for walking?

How many fin designs are there suitable for walking? I see something called 'Flip Fins' on Amazon but the reviews are quite spotty, indicating that the flip mechanism is very hard to operate and also can break.

Any other options? Sure there must be a number of solutions out there in the market.

Love to hear any experiences from members here.

Have you checked out the shin fins site? They are a supporter here on this site and their site scrolls across our ticker at the top here. They dont really look like they help you really move fast but they look plausible for being able to walk in em. I just use my finds from when I snorkel. I walk like a duck or walk backwards if I do walk im em lol

Thanks. I have thought about them but looking at videos, it seems clear that they won't allow strong control of turns because they can also 'flap' left and right without tight control.  I could be wrong but from an engineering background, it seems to be low in control and power in the context of float tube kicking motion. Perhaps this is a case of one having to give up something to gain something.

They are sponsors here so I figure they must sell some here but I am curious that there's been no review by float tubers. For $90 shipped to the USA, I'd love to hear reviews.

So yes the shin fin is one but it has not really taken off. I did see a review of a tuber using them for river tubing. Perfect to move around and then stand to fish.
There is also Maxxon Anphibifins which are meant to walk in. But they did not work well. As I am sure you can see there is good force in the up stroke but nothing in the down stroke.

I think the best option in the flip fin in my opinion but it seems they are still lacking as well.

Yea I know what you're saying bro. To me... They look kind of flimsy and like they would bang around on your shins and tops of your feet causing soreness after a session of float tubing. Maybe not though but it definitely would be interesting to see an honest review on them here. To me they remind me of the duck feet fins.. Bare minimum to create thrust and possibly just not as efficient with 2 straps to hold them in place But who knows? Great idea though. I cannot justify paying that much just to test them out but if anyone from the company is here I'd gladly test a pair out and give my full unbiased honest review here! Lol

I have some Omega Flip Fins.

I can say the flip up feature is ok, but not a necessity to me. Also, I can see stress lines in the plastic mechanism that holds the spring in place so I stopped flipping them up and down. The Omega sole is a plastic that concrete tears up pretty quick so I needed to be sure and walk on dirt. Like a lot of dive fins the back strap needs to be replaced every so often. I used to keep a spare set of straps in my tube and change them out every year.

Here is a link to my first impressions.
