Started my day off with a 24 inch halibut at harbor island. Fished there for the bassin for breast cancer II event....dont know if any of ya'll were there but it was a good time for a good cause. Sponsored by T&C swimgrubs....good stuff.
Ok now to the tubin report: mission bay was windy as hell.....tried there for 30 minutes and called it quits. Drove down to the chula vista marina and worked the docks and pilings for a while. Only connected with 1 fish there but missed a TON of fish.....dull hooks, late swings, slack lines.....made a few mistakes which lost me some fish. Kicked over to the breakwall and caught 3 spotties. It started getting dark and cold so i headed back. Landed 1 DINK of a bass on the way back and called it a night. All fish caught on T&C swimgrubs with 1/4oz led heads or 3/8oz warbait slayer heads. Uni butter was key....the fish seemed picky so smaller baits, with the butter convincedthem to eat. Ill post the pics later....sorry for not including them with the original post.
Anyone else here tube the chula vista area? Its not my normal AO but is close to my gf's house so its quick and easy to get to.
