Launched at low tide from Mother’s around 6am. Overcast, water at 64 degrees, very light breeze, waders not required.
Headed south to fish all the boat slips I could see. Started with a brown/gold HUB but the fish, if there were any, weren’t interested. Switched to a Googan green/white 3.5” swim bait, plus an added under spin. The second cast into an empty slip by the yacht club got nailed by a hard-fighting 13” spottie. I thought, “thank you”! No skunk today.
Crossed the channel and got 3 more on the same bait. Finally a decent session after months of waiting for summer to arrive!
Here are pics.
Note: I decided to show you guys a pic of a (rare—-for me) striper I caught last week at MDR on a sardine near the bait receiver.
