Tube baits, tube baits, and tube baits.

Ok i will start by saying this I was not excited by Hookup Baits at the start. Everyone was using them and I just refused. But once I tried one I was ..... Hooked.

The take away from this article for me was the number saltwater species that it has caught. This does not ever cover the Freshwater species. I also agree to the don't blink on the sink. A Lot of my fish have come on that drop.

Now I will say that I have never tried the dead stick method but I am sure it works. Also I do want to try the Donkey rig soon.

The Donkey Rig is awesome! Sardine Green and Chovy HUBs worked well for me that day.

I believe it was SP Dan who told me about HUB's many years ago. It's the only bait I use when fishing the bays. It produces fish, but I must tell you I do use a scent in the tube that's not HUB's. That being said, I fished it both ways, scent catches more fish for me. 90% of the bass I catch are on Sardine Green, my go to color. I don't use any special tie up, 6 pound XXX from the bait caster tied to the HUB.

Most of the fish I have caught have been on the fall or when I crank the line of the ell grass. Cast, fall, dead stick, retrieve.

Had 3 legals the last time out with my friend TonyG, 2-hour session at Newport................Tight lines GT.

Sardine green is great and I also like red crab. HUB just freaking works and I agree sent is very important.

Hookup Baits always work in the bays. Colors vary by location and season. I was always like the redcrab in Alamitos Bay. But lately beedee turned me on to green pumpkin and they’ve been working when water was a little cooler. Like below 60. Green sardine and anchovy in HH , maybe redcrab but in summer only. Always use the Mermaids Milk scent from Hookup Baits directly.

I’ve tried some other tube baits like Berkeley and Zman and even the JBros Sentinal with the Hookup baits heads with limited success.

1/4 oz Hookup Baits never let me down!!
I had great success dead-manning with them … keeping them about 6 to 12 inches up off the bottom.
Sardine Green was always my go-to!

They’re also great for dock shooting! I could skip them back-in under the docks 60-70 feet! To where the fish were!!
