Is it just me or is this a cool idea. Maybe it's been around for years but I know st found it. Have you tried this or what are your thoughts to weight your tube baits.

I have seen the weights in tube baits before. I thought it was just a streamlined jig solution.

I may be a bit lazy, but it is so much easier for me to use a sliding sinker.

I fish a lot of weighted tubes, especially in the fall. Weights, all kinds out there. I prefer a slender jig head down the tube. Dropping a nail weight or even split shot into the tube, you can still rig Texas Weedless like in the picture. Yeah we have been doing weights in tubes since tubes were first around. Another tube trick? How about a fishing a weighted tube under a "Lunker Hut" detachable double Colorado bladed spinner or a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] beetle spin blade. It's a fantastic spring bait for pre-spawn and spawning largemouth. On a final note, where the lead is positioned in the tube will control how the jig falls. Put the lead all the way forward in the head and you get a tight circular fall on the drop. Move the lead back into the tube a 1/8" and you get a 2' circle on the drop. Yeah, I fish a lot of tubes...
