material is 3=1-1/2 cross, 3 pcs of 1-1/2 cut to 2.5 inches long, 3=1-1/2X1 inch reducers and 1 inch tee and 1 90 ellbow and 6 feet of 1 inch pipe

That is a great setup, it's exactly what I had in mind. Not too bulk while being very functional. Does the tube lean to one side when you load up the holder with all the rods and net?

So you lash the Velcro to where the poles go and where on the tube do hyoid secure it to?

no leaning at all and it just throw the outer d ring by the storage bags the center pole holder pushes against the bag and the other tilt outward make it stable you can make the pole lean in or out depends on how you want them but it work out great for me and there is no bottom strap just around the d rings and on the out side of the pole holding area

That's great I want to thank everyone in this forum for all the speedy and helpful responses. I'm excited to go get the gear and get started. What is the cheapest tool to use to cut the notches in the holders? I don't really have many tools
