at the fred hall show i had bought a net to attach to my float tube. And i was wondering if i took it in the saltwater, would the salt mess it up or get rusty? confused

Even if it is stainless I'd give it a rinse down after fishing the salt. Stainless is great around saltwater but can still corrode over time.
Same with aluminum, it can get "powdery" when exposed to salt.

Just rinse it off after every outing.
