those little blood suckers will get you at Newport and HB as well, have to move fast when launching as they hang out in very shallow water...

I was floating lake George about 10 years ago (it was June) kicking backwards over by the inlet and I bumped into a huge chunk of ice. Scared the poop out of me.

Another, I was floating lake Stocher down by Red's Meadow about 20 years ago, a Beaver flip its tail in the water right next to my tube. Its sounds like a bowling ball dropped in the water from about 50 feet. Lucky, I already pooped before I went in.

The good is that I found a 9 foot sage rod and reel at Lake Crowley (20 years ago) They were dropping the level of the lake and I saw just the tip of the rod as I was kicking in...
