So a good friend of mine gave me some dive fins that he had lying around, so i tested them in my pool and they were too small, they were size 8-9 and i wear 11-11 1/2. So when i would wear them my feet would cramp up on me every time.

So what i did was i boiled some water and held the heel of the fins in the water for about a minute and a half then took them out real quick and stretched them, i had to do this repeatedly to stretch enough, now they fit like a dream!

I've always found that a lack of resources is the mother of invention. Way to go Mikem.

Props to you for making it work, good idea. I know a few people that would have boiled them with their feet in them still for a proper fit Rolling Eyes

I've had luck boiling some of my plastics to make them softer too for a bit more action.

Picked up a set of step in fins at a yard sale for back ups for only $5.00 cuz they were slighly warped. Took em home, set the oven to 200 and when it reached temp I turned the oven off, placed the fins over the back side of a cookie sheet and put them in the oven for about 15 minutes, pulled them out still on the cookie sheet, doused them with cool water and they look like new. The color bounced back too. Whedn they first came out of the oven they were soft and pliable. Can see how stretching the boots would be doable as well.
