I reuse them as long as the presentation looks good, holds on the hook, has good color.........I don't save them, but some melt them down and remold the plastic. I think Jeff and Vagabond have some experience at molding plastics..........GT

Tight lines tonight TonyG, I'm off tomorrow to SFD.

I reuse them till they are too beat up to stay on the hook properly. I have a jar of beat up ones in the garage. No idea what I will do with them.

I usually toss them but there's a new article on BD on how to fix them. It was really informative so I'm going to give that a try.

If I can't super glue them back together I usually toss them. Unless they have a curl tail like on grubs, sometimes I'll cut that part off and use it as a trailer on a jig or hook.

Small plastics are cheap enough to just throw them away if they are unusable but again I'm lucky enough to not have to buy 95% of my baits. Larger swimbaits like hudds etc I'll glue them up if they can be saved.

I use to melt them down and re-pour, it is a bit of a chore but can be fun and worth it.

I melt mind down and pour or hand inject into a mold, i will mix colors and see what comes out sometime, I get really cool colors. The biggest problem I get is duplicating something that worked really good. CAUTION do not overheat smells bad and the color will change.

Just DO NOT throw them back into the lake! I've caught bass that are all plugged up because they ate old discarded plastic worms! Their stomachs cannot digest the plastic!

I mix them up. I cut off the bad portions, first, then gather all the sections.
Using a candle flame, bring the cut ends close to the heat, say a tail and a head. Heat the ends and push them together once the plastic melts.
Don't get too close or the plastic will catch fire!
This way you get a sort of "Frankenbait."
The tatters the are just not salvageable, are tossed in the trash.

Just practice a bit and you'll get it.
PS the softened plastic will squish out around the joint. Just trim it with clippers or scissors.

After buying a bottle of mend it, I was amazed at the creatures you can create. Forget about super glue, mend it makes it super easy without your fingers sticking together.
