There are so cheaper models but even the cheap one can be high priced. I did read that GoPro is making there own. Like anything in time they will come down in price.

GoPro is coming out with one called the Karma. Not sure what the specs are though. But the DJI Phantom series are incredible! I have a Phantom 3 and its amazing what they can do. The Phantom 4 though has anti-collision dectection (forward facing only though), and a feature where it can recognize a person and follow that person without them having to carry a tracking device, the Phantom 3, you have to be holding the Remote Controller in order for the drone to follow you.

Heres a quick little video I took this morning at Seal Beach. Winds were between 5-15mph.



But Im thinking of selling this to upgrade to the P4.

If anyone wants to fish Los Alamitos bay and wants some video taken, let me know.

750 with two spare batteries (3 batteries total) and carrying backpack, or 525 without spare batteries. Its the Phantom 3 Standard.

But before investing that much money on a camera drone, I highly suggest starting off with a small toy grade drone. I have the Revell Hexagon micro drone (to fly around the house - this is by far my favorite to fly), a larger Syma X5SW and JJRC H8C quad copters.

Even though the GPS feature on the Phantoms pretty much gives them the ability to practically fly themselves, its important to be able to control the Drone without GPS assistance. Toy grade quads will give you the knowlege of how to control your Phantom if and when you lose GPS signal or if you have to fly in an emergency!
