BigD007

FTFF Gathering Officer

Hello all.

I am here because I ran into Jeff today at a fishing derby for kids. I happen to look over my shoulder and see a float tube which made me curious.

I love to fish now but as a kid I hated it. Just didn't quite have the patience to sit and wait. I fish anywhere I can and as often as possible.

Recently I had been looking at kayaks to be able to get to those areas that I have been missing out on by simply standing on the bank.

I look forward to reading the many posts and picking peoples brains as I decide on what I want to do.

You'll see my username is BigD007 which I have used for many years. Many friends have called me Big D for many years. I come in at 6'5" and about 300 lbs hence the name. 007 of course comes from my love of the James Bond films.

Thanks for having me and allowing me to enjoy this forum.

Haha, welcome aboard little buddy.

I ride the Cumberland and I am 5" 10" and weigh in at a paltry 200 pounds. The Cumberland floats me great and is very comfortable to fish in 6 hours or more. I also have a small, 10 foot, kayak. This can cover so much more water there is no comparison in travel. However, the kayak is plainly uncomfortable to sit in or fight fish from.

I hope this helps.

Use the search function to find what other big guys use.

welcome to the dark side BigD007, here you will find a lot of cool people that will share tips and tricks. I myself use to hate fishing as a kid but now the tug is my drug. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the FTFF! Fate has a strange way of connecting things.

As you paddle into this adventure called Float Tubing you will have many questions. You're in the right place to get answers.

You've stood upon the shore knowing that if you had some sort of watercraft you could get to those spots that you know the fish are hanging out. So what is Float Tube fishing like? Imagine fishing from your recliner. Seriously...it's like fishing from your recliner.

The first time you fight a fish from a tube you will be hooked for sure! I have fished for all of my life from every type of watercraft you can imagine. Some of them would make interesting stories all on their own. But none of them compare to the Float Tube. I have a nice Bass boat in the driveway that continues to go unused.

So...welcome to your new addiction.  salute The FTFF is a great place to make friends and enjoy fishing.
