And the one that got away!!
Last cast of the day before calling it quits for the session and I got SLAMMED!! My rod was completely bent over!
This thing immediately headed straight out for the deep water screaming line off my spool. Oh ... C#@P!!
I immediately started kicking full steam in it's direction to stop it from spooling me.
This went on for approx 15 minutes and 1000 feet.
I had kayaker's, SUP boaders and groups in small crafts all that stopped and cheering me on in hopes that I'd land this monstrous beast. It went to the bottom for the last time and stayed there.
I was right on top of it and couldn't get it to rise up off the bottom. I was out gunned and out weighed with only my 8# mono and the inevitable happened ...... pop!!
The crowd sighed ......... and I never got to see it.
That's fishing folks!
Well .... that was my fire works for the day!!

Great story with the lost monster and good job on the trifecta.

Great sessions! I always get frustrated by a monster every once in a while too. I fished the LAB a couple days too and saw a float tuber in the distance. Maybe it was you? I'm sure I'll run into you sooner than later

Ahh yes..the last cast. Sometimes it does happen on that last cast. Most times it doesn't.

Really too bad you couldn't end that story with a pic of the monster on the other end. Of course you were in a float tube. There's a good chance you didn't want to see the monster on the other end. Sometimes it better if they just stay under the bed.

Very cool to have fished 3 days in a row way to go on that legal and trifecta....what a bummer on the loss, youll get it next time!
