Here is a topic lets talk about about weather conditions. What is your experience with weather patterns or what weather have you had the most success in when fishing.

Any fishing guys Saltwater Freshwater, Bass, Trout or Catfish I don't care just wondering what you look for i weather to indicated to today is gong to be a good day. This has been a topic I have always found interesting and I would like to know more. Of course it does not change things for most of us because fishing only happens in the weekend and when we have free time. Not because there is a high pressure storm coming. But then again if we had some patterns we were looking for we could maybe make better decisions.

I ask this because our member Dondraper had a outing just recent and I wonder was it weather related.

Winds ... no greater than 5-7 mph. Preferably a gentle breeze.
Partly sunny, mostly cloudy ... 70 deg.
Water temps ... clear water, 62 deg to 68 deg.
Strong incoming tide.
On shore breeze.

There are so many variables. However, the number one thing that brings my expectations up would be air pressure dropping.

On shore flow means bad winds in the afternoon almost without exception, but a Santa Ana wind event will quite often mean light winds (especially the second day) Thumbs Up

I always look for cloud cover. For me having good clouds means the fish will be active and not as hidden. I have found this applies for most fish fresh or salt water. Double so if it is a fish that lives in shallow water.
