New to Float tube fishing + 1st FT catches

Hey everyone, my name is Will, and I'm new to the whole float tube thing. I bought my float tube a couple weeks ago and finally got to take it out today. I fished Huntington Harbor in SoCal, and I actually got to get about an hour on the water today in between the rain showers. I wanted to try throwing some bass tackle in saltwater, so I used a ned rig with a 4 inch split tail worm. Caught 1 halibut and 1 spotted bay bass. Just snapped a quick picture then got them back in the water.  When the weather clears up, I'll hopefully get more time on the water. Hope to see you guys out on the water.

Hey Wperkins2 that is a great way to make an entrance buddy. Welcome to the group and we are happy you found us. Huntington Harbor is one of my favorite spots we will have to hook up some time in the future.

I'm really glad that you found us!
HH is a wonderful harbor to fish, you just need to pay close attention to the tidal movements there.

I'll be heading down there this Sat to test out my luck, I hope that I am 1/2 as lucky as you were today! Wish me luck!

I see you are already on the fish. I wondered how much my fresh water bass gear would preform in salt and you start off with the Ned rig.

As Dan was saying check out Smartbait Bingo this will be a test run but it should be fun and you could have a chance to win some Smartbaits.

Yup, I've always been interested in fishing different types of tackle for different types of fish, and I figured the Ned rig would probably be a good place to start in saltwater. Maybe even try to make some homemade lures one day
