Just wondering what do you guys like to use as far as rod handles go.  Do you like a long handle, a short butt section, do you like a split grip or the old pistol grip.  I think this is a personal preference for fishermen.  For me, I like to use a long butt section and split gips that are long as well.  I use the long handle to help with long casts as well as fighting nice fish.  What do you like better on your rods just wondering?

I like the rod handle to be 10 to 12 inches long. A split grip is nice, but not necessary for me. The length of the grip has more importance to me. The pistol grip of the past is just too short for me, I landed a 4.5 pound bass with one and it was quite a chore with so little leverage. On the other hand, once the grip gets past 14 inches the rod handling becomes crowded on the tube IMHO.

I beleve it is all preference. I prefer a medium length like Jerdon. The length of the cast can increase with rod lenght. When fishing docks i like a shorter rod, fishing open water I like to fish a 7-7'6' rod. I perfer a medium light to medium action rod. Full length grip or split grip doesn't really matter to me.

I prefer the Type C Split Grip on a 6-ft rod on the float tube.
I may not catch the big fish like the rest of you guys, but when I’m fighting a 21 to 23 pound halibut, it’s all-in-one-hand while the other hand is holding the Boga grip to grab it’s jaw.
I don’t need a long handled grip to deal with while fighting a Halibut in tight quarters.

I prefer the Type B long grip when I’m surf fishing and using a 9’-6” rod and I want that extra handle length for getting my 5/8oz Lucky Craft 110 lure out past the outer trench and surf break, approx 120’ - 140’.

I like a split grip like C and G like Dan Like the ability to use the longer handle to lean up against my forearm to fight and to help when landing one-handed. Rod length for me is 6' 1/2" to 7" medium actions. But the longer handle is what I prefer and split grip is even better.

I was always a fan of split grips and eva foam, my first megabass changed all of that. Full cork for me and handle length depends on use, pitching rod I like em a bit shorter for ease of getting into any spot. Crankbait rods and weightless plastics rod I prefer the longer handle to help extend casting distance
