PVC TUBE mounts: Railblaza vs Scotty vs YakAttack vs Fasten vs....?

Starting my 2nd thread here...Smile If this is already answered, I'd be grateful for a link as my search skills on this forum is deficient.

I'm pretty sure that my primary tubes will be 0.9mm thick PVC. Instead of straps, I would like to glue mounts right on the PVC skin just for that clean/elegant look.

Three questions:

1. What brands should I be looking at for mounts that can be glued directly to a PVC float tube? (I reside in the USA.)

2. I saw a couple of mounts where there is a metal tube or rail-mounted parallel to the top of the float tube and accessories can be slid along that rail for infinite placement locations along that rail. I can't find that picture anymore but I have the impression that it is a Fasten system.

Anyways, which of the brands can do a rail on a float tube?

3. Which of the brand offers a high bang for the buck? May not want to pay for a Rolls Royce price even if it performs at a Rolls Royce level.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I wish I had more info for you here, but I really don't have much. I have spoke with Railblaza in the past and they do have some really nice setup. Scotty is always a good idea but they don't have much in the rail system you are talking about but I might be wrong.
I think Railblaza is probably the best place to find what you are looking for. We need to do some more research on this and see what we can find.

Thanks Jeff. No problem. I'm new here and like your post above this one about what defines a 'float tube'. And appreciate your openness to innovation. I'm actually doing some stuff to improve the function of float tubes appreciably so will be interesting to see how it goes once I get it all done.

Thanks.

I use Railblaza glue on(double sided 3m tape) mounts for rod, camera mounting and their cup holder that I hang my grips and pliers on my Savage Gear 170. The only downside is ounce mounted, they are difficult to remove. The lock keys tend to break after awhile, but I haven't lost anything without them. I would recommend them.

Thanks! I wonder how strong the 3M double sided tape is....say compared to two glue in a bottle designed for PVC plastic. And I assumed that once mounted, it is permanent with no chance of removal. Not true? Thanks for commenting on this thread. Looking at this further, I like the Fasten system the most but it is also the most expensive and does not have USA representatives.
