Spent two fantastic mornings of fishing on a tiny Plymouth pond this week. The first morning it seemed the entire surface was boiling with rolling trout as they slurped emergers just below the surface. I caught 16 rainbows the biggest was 16.5 inches and 2 brookies topping out at 14". The next morning it was foggy and the surface was much quieter but the action just beneath the surface was even more intense, I landed 26 rainbows all between 12 - 14", 2 brookies topping out at 17" and 2 tigers topping out at 15".
All fish took a size 16 black midge.

That was two great days for sure.. The 16 black midge must have felt like magic for a while.

Thanks for sharing.

Sure did. But a visit to a local pond popped the bubble as no hatch went off at all. Just 4 hours of looking for signs of fish in vain. Oh well...
