Ok guys I am really hoping to do some saltwater fly fishing so I will be I hope tying some of these what do you think.

Along with those two patterns, I add some flatwing-style streamers, deer hair divers (like the Tabory Snake Fly), poppers, shrimp patterns, and crab patterns.

You can add some wraps of fine lead wire on the hook shank under the body material or use dumbbell eyes to increase the sink rate.

This makes the fly a little more difficult to cast though. And in the case of the fly weighted with dumbbell eyes, if you happen to hit a graphite rod with the fly during casting, it can create a weak spot.
I broke a fly rod last spring. I hit the rod with a Clouser Minnow while casting and it broke while I was fighting the next fish I caught. (Luckily, it was an Orvis rod and it was replaced for free.)
