Bow Fishing What the deal with bow fishing

I have a bow fishing set up but never used it ,i dont even have a clue where to use it and do i need specail licene or permits i dont have a boat only a tube and thats not going to happen lol so I am thinking of trying it but then also i dont know if i would feel right if i did unless it was for eating what you catch and i am down for some good eating fish but i dont want to eat carp
Bottom line is i want to say that i bow fished and if i like it or dont and then 90 percent sure i would sell it.
Any suggests would be good so thanks in advance

Only bow fishing I have ever heard of is for Carp in the flats on big bear lake sorry. It would be interesting to try but I am with you not sure I want to eat Carp. I will be watching this post to see what others have to say.

I got a cupple buddys who bow fish.at lake hemet for carp ill ask about permits n such I know they have a blast. I did it in nebraska and was so much fun on the river, I gotta buy a new set up to much fun.

LOL check out the Big Bear round up, great time and alot of fish, they removed about 5,000 lbs this year and last year they did 8,000lbs. Keep in mind that the carps are destroying the habitat for all the native fish. Being that they are not really a great fish for eating Lot's of fisher man don't target them so there population is exploding. They are like hoogs in water, they up root the plants and this is why they are not like.

I have a buddy who used to bow fish for gar.....too bad we don't have any out here.

Yea ive seen em at aquariums but never in person. Supposedly he had a scar on his leg from one who bit him after he dropped it on himself....dont know how true that is though.....didnt bother calling him out on it.

i seen one bit the belly out of a red tail cat fish pretty awsome thing to see

I am sure there is something that is done with it, the have this thing set up to remove the Carp. I am sure that if you don't eat it you can give it away or maybe they have people that take the extra. Or still maybe they just fee the local bears for winter I don't know what is it!

I talked to my buddy he says only need a fishin lic but the lake or were ever you fish must allow bow fishing. Each place has own rules an regs. I lived in nebraska for about 4 years an out there they love eatin carp. You can get a carp plate at just about every sit down restaurant. Crazy thing I found out is carp fishing in the UK is like bass fishin here. They have huge tournys and sponsors n such. I know im gunna start micro rodin me some carp and mabey some random arrows
