Got out early and splashed the zonker 3-445 to see what’s shakin
Haven’t fished the AO since spring
Not much tidal movement , wind not bad 5-10 knots
1 bite on the swim bait that I swung so hard and screamed it kinda scared a nice couple walking in shore… nothing…DOH
Definitely a little rusty
Gotta calm down and just reel and not swing like it’s a yellowtail

Skunk for me

At least on the way home  I saw that the Homeless camp across from the little league field cleared out.

Sorry about the skunk . Know how that feels. Had a couple slow outings lately . Glad you still got out , though. Halibut will start moving in soon . Let’s all get together after the holidays and meet up and go get some big ones. Been wanting to hit Cabrillo/LA Harbor. Do you venture out to the breakwall or stay by the marina? Do you launch from Cabrillo beach specifically? Off the ramp or the sand?? I see your truck on the ramp. And nice rig by the way. Looks very familiar.

SP Dan had a meet up 2 years  ago to show a few follksnthe ropes

3 access points
1. North parking lot stairs access - hit eel grass beds, marina jetty, turn the corner for boat slips
2. Boat Ramp launch for eelgrass , short jetty, deep water flats
3. Beach access launch for more eelgrass, breakwall if you are brave. This beach is we’re grunion tend to run in season

Cost $1 /hour parking
DFG usually at ramp on weekends
Boat ramp can get busy

Wind always an issue
Negative tides can leave eelgrass beds high and dry
Gotta be mindfull of boaters, sailors, and lately wind surfers on foils than come barreling down on you.

Really challenging to figure out patterns but when wind, tide swing, water level, structure all come together you have a chance at glory like this morning.  45 min later when tide drains out it shuts off like nobody’s business.
