Hi all, I bought a side imaging sounder for my frameless pontoon boat (Outcast Stealth Pro). Yes it was overkill...
After buying every piece of Scotty paraphernalia to mount it and the transducer, I realized I actually want the transducer to run perpendicular to the boat. Not something the standard setup allows for.
Ideally I'd be able to rotate the transducer so when I'm facing the bank while fishing and scan the structure as I move parallel to the shoreline.
Has anyone had any experience setting up a sounder like this? Anything on the market or DIY design suggestions? Thanks in advance.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Mount the transducer at the end of a piece of PVC?

Thanks for the suggestion [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I think you're on the right track. Was going to try to keep as much of the Scotty parts as I can to attach to the boat and mount the head unit, but from there down I reckon it's going to have to be a new design. Perhaps affixing a collar that the vertical arm can rotate in, with a grub screw to lock it off. I can see a few trips to the hardware store coming up Smile

There's your solution.

Think this will work but first trip on the water will tell.
Made with 15mm diameter PVC pipe and a couple of PVC snap clamps screwed to the top half of the old Scotty transducer mounting arm. The clamps are tight enough to hold the pipe, but can still turn the pipe by the top. Just have to affix the cable to the pipe and index the top cap so it's more abvious which way the transducer is facing.
Thanks everyone for the advice.
