Enjoyed a short outing today in the Bay with Ray Corral and Jeff Bernier.

Calm waters in the slack tide made for a pleasant few hours on the water.

Hooked and landed a spottie with my third cast and I thought, "Dang! Time for a wide-open bite." Much to my chagrin, that was it until about an hour later....

Ended up with an additional two small sandies (with two other farmed efforts). Ray brough in three (farmed two) and Jeff added one (although he was only on the water for about 2-1/2 hours).

Any trip where you don't bring home the odor of skunk is a successful trip.

We will be returning to the Bay asap.

Hope to see you out there!

It was a tough day for me.  My first hook up lasted all of 30 sec.  And the snap the I assume Stingray was gone with my lure and half my leader.  Next was a tail hook Spottie that flipped the hook before I could get the net ready.  I ended up with one small sandie and a host of short bits.  Thanks for the invite and tight lines everyone.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I always luv’d fishing those waters because they were so close to my home then. LAB was always my 2nd choice of go-to Harbors, of course, after LA Harbor being my favorite.

Thank you Jeff for your fish report with pictures.
Nice ride! 👍
It looked like a beautiful day to be out-there 🎣 on the water.

Nice Fish Report. AB has been a grind for some reason this summer. My shore pound sessions have been rough, with a few skunks in the mix. The few times I tubed it this summer were better than my shorepounds, but still yielded much less than last summer sessions. I had a few nights where I landed 12, 13 or 14 fish.
