Force Fins

Are Force Fins really that much better? The Outcast fins have a similar design as the Force fins. Does anyone have any experience with the two?

I own them both and I prefer the force fin over the out cast they are fast more cocntrol and less work

Force fins are well designed. But, I use the US Diver snorkler fins FX Pro. And generate the same amount of propulsion. However, the snorkling fins can be tight with waders on.

I dont get it? Are ya'll talkin about snorkeling? What do you need fins for?

taking a quick break from T-Day cooking.
I use force fins
I like the force fins because,..
1) they are pretty fast
2) they are short, and wide, which is helpful in shallow water and with cavitating, and makes getting in and out in muddy conditions easier (as well as storing them)
3) they are easier to use with wading boots.
4) they float! ( at least the model I have does) For that time when they come off of you unexpectedly.
5) they are easily adjusted for size ( adjustable backstrap) This is a big advantage when you are either with or without wading boots or dive booties, or in warm water, an old pair of sneakers.
6) they are by far the most maneuverable fins to use, especially in tight quarters.

There are a few things I don't like,...
1) they are stiff, which makes them really torquey on your joints. ( sore knees, and cramps) Especially hard on loooong kicks, some guys I know will carry long, soft dive fins on the back of their tubes for the long kicks from spot to spot. (Like the kick from Sandy Point to Magee at Crowley)
2) They are expensive

I got some turbo thruster float tube fins I just got fro the pro shop don't have a report on how they work but they where affordable only fifty bucks and the foothole is ment for you stocking foot or boot wader to go in comfotably. fins are need because they make it alot easyier to cover water you would get nowhere against the wind/tides with just your bare feet pushing that tube and extremely tierd from trying

Yea headcase i have the same pair and so far i like them.

A few bad reviews bit a lot more 5star reviews.

And what the heck....dont know if im looking at the right pair but are force fins really almost $200????

i had the same fins from bass pro shop the turbo fins i sold the for half price the force fins work way better than those turbo if you want to try them i have 2 pair next time we go out i let you use them for the day

those are a lil different from mine but those are force fin i got mine used bothe pair 1 pair for 100 buck and the other for 25 bucks

damn i just looked up the force fins they are ridiculously expesive get a trolling motor for that price. i bet they work really great but they are not on my christmas list at this point. i would love to try a pair out i have been useing some real short snorkling fins and man i felt like i was kicking my ass off compared to someone with the longer ones i will have to stick with the turbo thrust because they fit in the fishing budget. i dont know how i would explain the reson why i need some at that price to the woman hahaha

i like my fins i got at a dive shop. paid only like $40.00.
now is the time to check dive shops as they are getting in new models for 2012.

no prob you can try them but then you are going to want a side job or a garage sale to help pay for a pair lol

i also got those cadis step in fins those were 40 buck and i like those better than the turbo fins

Matter of fact i wanted to sell them i only used twice they look brand new still in the bag

Miller I'll look in my garage for some fins if you need some. There all dive fins

I have an old version of these fins and the buckle system does suck.
The best thing I ever did was replace the whole heelstrap/buckle setup with a backstrap that I got from a dive shop. It has no buckle, just a really thick strap with holes that go over the posts that the buckles used to go over.

Before I got that replacement strap, I had to use electrical tape because the buckle would fail at bad times, but I liked how the fins worked.

MassFisher: Yes, they do cost that much. I have friends that love theirs but I'm told that the simple version (costs less also) with fewer adjustments is the more reliable version and works better.

I frequently have to fight the wind (gotta love Sandy Point) in fresh and salt and I like the longer fins...if mine every break I'll probably go longer...but it's hard trying to find fins with a big enough pocket to put my wading boots into...I find that using my boots cuts down on fatigue, and you never know when you have to beach it and hike.

Longer fins = MUST adjust with slower, longer strokes. Try fast kicks and you'll be very unhappy after a long stretch.

Most of my friends only know how to do short kicks which is probably why they like the Force Fins.
